Story of Sleepy Cat Burnt Gambler Turmoil and a New Rival
In Sleepy Cat, John Selwood now Wentworth’s representative helps a settler wagon’s crew and binds with the rugged frontier world. Abe Cole, a feared blacksmith, quarreled over a bad hat as traders bargain, while Selwood notices Christie Fyler and, at the drugstore, shares a tense exchange with the woman who tends the wounded gambler Dave Tracy. The day ends with Selwood slipping away after Christie’s wary glance.
