Bellevue Nebr pilot Reuben L Wagner escaped with slight injuries when his U S mailplane crashed into rocks west of West Sidney in heavy fog. Mechanics from Cheyenne and North Platte stripped the wreckage for shipment to Omaha as investigators reviewed the mishap ruling out repairs. Wagner, a veteran on the airmail route, was en route Cheyenne with mail when the plane struck the rock hill four miles west of town.

E Call set a school mark in the half mile at 2 minutes 34 seconds, and Daniel claimed the mile in 6 minutes 2 seconds.

Judge P. J. Barron dies in Scottsbluff home
The Telegraph reports the death of Judge P. J. Barron of the Seventeenth District court at his Scottsbluff home after several months of illness. Aged about 50, he suffered rheumatism and cancer but the cancer was not deemed the primary cause. With Barron unable to perform duties, judges Tewell Nisley and others held district sessions. Barron, a renowned western Nebraska jurist, had lived in Gering and Scottsbluff. funeral arrangements were not set.

Prominent farmer dies in Omaha hospital
Herman Dick Segelke, 48, a leading Cheyenne county farmer west of Gurley and a pillar in the German settlement, died after four operations for appendicitis and lung abscess at Wise Memorial Hospital in Omaha. Born April 10, 1878 in Germany, he immigrated to western Nebraska and became a respected, charitable figure. Funeral services were held at the German Lutheran church with burial in the German Lutheran cemetery. over 150 cars attended. He is survived by his wife, seven sons, and three daughters.
