Educational Service Units Proposed in LB301 Plan
Lincoln and Omaha school districts would become independent educational units under LB301, a statewide plan by Senator Ross Rasmussen. The Education Committee has the bill for study, with talks to refine details before advancing. The measure would form 20 service units with master boards able to levy up to 1 mill to fund targeted services, sparking concerns of potential reorganization.
