Wheat Bill Boost Urged by Nebraska Chambers
McCook Nebraska Wheat Growers Association president Wayne Allen wrote Tuesday urging all local Chambers of Commerce and residents to contact Nebraska congressmen. He warned Nebraska wheat farmers could lose up to 49 million dollars on the 1964 crop without a voluntary wheat certificate bill, saying passage could preserve income and support farmers at about 70 cents per bushel. Allen called this last chance for wheat legislation this year and stressed agriculture's importance to Nebraska's economy.
