Deadline for State Fair Entries Aug 12
The Michigan State Fair deadline for agriculture and livestock entries is Friday August 12. General manager Donald L. Swanson notes 1960 Premium Books have been mailed announcing a record 140000 dollars in prizes for the 111th annual fair to be held September 2 to 11 in Detroit. Agricultural director Eldon McLachlan lists premium book changes including higher dairy cattle premiums, a Junior Champion Sow and Boar banner, 90 day steer ownership, and two new performance classes for Arabian and Appaloosa horses. Swanson urges early entries to avoid late rush and possible no space.
