Make hay while the clover blooms says Massey Ferguson
A Massey Ferguson report notes hay at early bloom contains 18 to 20 percent protein, worth about 40 per cent feed value, versus 12 percent protein later. Delays in mowing reduce value and can cost farmers up to 40 dollars per acre, urging timely first-cut alfalfa when bloom begins.
