Florez Honored By Clean Air Group For Valley Efforts
Senator Dean Florez of Shafter was named a 2006 Clean Air Award recipient by the Coalition for Clean Air for his work to improve air quality in California’s San Joaquin Valley. County supervisors name Moore permanent director
The Kern County Board of Supervisors appointed David J. Moore as director of agriculture and measurement standards on February 21, following a nine month interim period. Moore, a 29 year department veteran, has guided 80 employees as deputy and led reforms in the pesticide program to speed permits, improve citizen notification, reduce drift, and strengthen enforcement. He chaired the county public private partnership against yellow starthistle and helped craft statewide incident response policy.
