Over 150 children attend the Intermediate School summer band, with 75 Senior High Band members meeting weekly at the High School. The Summer Band Concert and Ice Cream Social will be July 24 on the Intermediate School lawn, featuring all bands and a pond dunking tradition.
The Feldkamp home hosted 75 to 100 guests from Jackson Clinton Manchester Ann Arbor Saline and Bridgewater for Erwin and wife’s 25th anniversary. Neighbors gave a silver dollar tree and a golf ball sized silver ball with a list of silver anniversaries to be passed to the next couple. Bob Ormsby remains hospitalized at St Joseph Hospital after surgery last week.
Aaron Steiner aged 92 died in an Ann Arbor hospital after a long illness. He lived in Ann Arbor 23 years and will be buried in Fairview Cemetery after a 2:30 p m service at Meuhlig Chapel. Survived by son Harry and four daughters, plus five other sons, 32 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
John Hoffman aged 65 died suddenly at his Mendon Michigan home after a heart attack. He was born August 2, 1898, in Breckinridge Minnesota and lived in Hammond Indiana before moving to Mendon 16 years ago. Survived by wife three daughters 11 grandchildren and two sisters. funeral at St Edward's Church Mendon. Burial in church cemetery.
Terrance J. Phillips 66 of 11551 Pleasant Shore Dr Pleasant Lake died Thursday night in Saline Community Hospital after a long illness. Born August 8 1897 in Jackson he married Dorotha Strong in 1920. He served in World War I and worked for Detroit Edison and Detroit Urban Railway before a long shoe repair partnership and farming. He retired from Ypsilanti State Hospital in 1962. He is survived by a son a daughter grandchildren and multiple relatives. Funeral services were at Bahnmiller Funeral Home with graveside rites by Phoenix Lodge in Highland Cemetery.
Members of the Macon Methodist Church WSCS will hold their annual June Tea Thursday at 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Sherman Richards District Secretary of Spiritual Life.
Staebler couple from 8531 Waters Rd Freedom Township celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. They were married June 25 1914 at the bride’s home in Lodi Township. The pair lived at their present address since marriage and have three children Harold of Dexter Lenora Staebler of Ann Arbor and Milda Kremkow of Utica with many relatives attending.

He notes four welfare bills, including the ADCU measure, and warns legislators may neglect the study committee amid new district complexities. He attended a Lansing meeting to seek a possible Supreme Court stay of the district changes.
