Saline Library summer reading program lineup announced
The Saline Library unveiled plans and materials for summer readers across ages. Preschool story time runs Wednesdays 10 to 10:30 with Child Study Club storytellers starting June 14. Grade school and teen activities include a Washtenaw Area Library System theme Ghosts Go Haunting, a ten step reading path with booklets for about 300 titles, and a teen book discussion group beginning June 22 moderated by Mrs. Marilyn Vander Lugt. A wide list of classic children’s books is highlighted for ages 3 to 12 and up to 9 to 12, including Babar, The Cricket in Times Square, Charlotte’s Web, and more.

Magnitude of Total State Finances in 1967 68
State operations run on ten principal funds with total expenditures near 2.4 billion for 1967 68. Nine funds use restricted revenues and the general fund, largest, combines general taxes with special and federal aids. Overall spending across all funds in 1968 is projected at 2 373 million, up 1 067 million since 1963. General fund spending tops 1 153 million, about half of all funds, and five year growth reaches 594 million.
