The Saline Jaycees set aside 500 dollars from their current budget for a park improvement plan. They named Bob Louden and Jerry Hering as co chairmen of the Miss Saline contest and will request the Fair Board consider inviting Miss Michigan to Saline for the crowning at the Fair.
Three Saline American Legion Auxiliary members will attend the Detroit convention. Mrs. Frank Deede Mrs. Orville Finkbeiner and Mrs. Ralph Uphaus travel Thursday for the American Legion and Auxiliary departmental meeting. Finkbeiner will be installed as Second District president Sunday. Lola Dell will receive a 500 hour volunteer bar at the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital Saturday afternoon and march in the Woodward Ave parade.
The Saline American Legion Auxiliary will hold its annual membership banquet at 7 p.m. Tuesday July 23 at the American Legion Hall. Installation of officers will be conducted by the Brooklyn team at 8 p.m. with Mrs Frank Dee de the incoming president. Mrs Walter MacArthur Sr will be the installing officer. Miss Kathy Burkhart will report on Wolverine Girls State. Dues are payable at the meeting.
