Silage Yields More Milk Than Hay Per Acre Says Study
An acre of feed stored as silage yields twice the milk of an acre stored as a stack. Silage preserves more nutrients, is more succulent, and allows near full consumption. About two thirds of dairy feeding is roughage, with silage reducing grain needs. Four pounds of silage equals one pound of concentrate in value.

Use one level teaspoon of balanced plant food per quart of soil and mix thoroughly before potting. To extend dahlia bloom apply water on cold nights, and shield hardy mums with bur lap or building paper during frost to lengthen bloom by two to three weeks, removing coverings by day.
