Michigan State University will host its 99th commencement at 4 p.m. on June 9 for about 2,401 spring graduates. Vice President Richard M Nixon is the keynote speaker. Agricultural Exports Reach New High in Fiscal 1957
U S agricultural exports through March of fiscal 1957 hit a record 3.6 billion dollars, up 45 percent from a year earlier. The Agriculture Department cited competitive pricing of cotton and other programs as the main driver. Cotton wheat rice soybeans and soybean oil led, while feed grains tobacco and butter lagged. If April to June exports match last year’s one billion, total exports for fiscal 1957 would rise about one third over 1956.
