Miss Dicks Wins County Citizenship Award

Betsy Dicks 17 daughter of Mr and Mrs John F Dicks of Judd Road won a county citizenship award from the Sarah Caswell Angell chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Ann Arbor. She is a Saline High School senior and has served as student court juror co editor of the yearbook business manager of the school paper and was a Girls State delegate. She works at Giltrows Pharmacy and attends adult tailoring classes at night school.

Man Hangs Self On Farm Barn At Heininger Property

C. J. Schneider 52 a farm hand at the Albert Heininger farm 7460 Warner Rd was found dead in the barn early Sunday morning in an apparent suicide. Police were notified at 5 30 am and the county coroner said he had been dead about two hours. He used binder twine tied to a barn rafter and stepped off a crate. The body was taken to Lockwood Funeral Home Saline and picked up by a Carleton Michigan funeral director. No note was left and the motive is unknown.

Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving in Saline

Curtis Nolin of Flint pleaded guilty Monday February 1 to drunk driving in Saline. He was fined 122.30 with 50 suspended for 30 days on condition of no trouble. Nolin was arrested January 30.

Valentines Dance at Saline Legion Home

Family Night Dinners Continue at Federated Church

Tonight at 6 30 the fifth of six Family Night Dinners will be held in the Federated Church dining room. The Ladies Aid Society Circle II organizes the meal and serves coffee. Families may bring food and their own table service. Car Wrecks In Multiple Incidents On Local Roads

Three vehicle crashes are reported. Herman Kohler of 8957 Manchester Road suffered a compound leg fracture and facial cuts after an icy Klager Road slide into an embankment. Emil Milkey of 1865 Milkey Road was hit on Saline Milan Road by Laurance Moore of Morenci, with forehead lacerations and abdominal pain. Cletus Hobbs, a Kentucky auto dealer, ran off U S 112 near the city, causing a total wreck of his car and damage to a tow vehicle.

Mrs Nellie Albertson Rites Held After Monthlong Illness

Nellie Albertson 56 of Ypsilanti died February 3 at Beyer Memorial Hospital after a month illness. Born December 14, 1897 in Vienna Missouri she married Ray Albertson October 25 1912. Survived by husband four sons two daughters 22 grandchildren siblings and a sister who died earlier. Funeral conducted February 3 at Geer Funeral Home with Rev George T Negin officiating.
