Turtle Mountain expands parking lot near Turtle Mountain Brewing

Turtle Mountain Brewing Company nears completion of a new half acre lot adding about 50 spaces for patrons. Owner Nico Ortiz plans about 80 spaces after adjustments. the project, built by Rachel Matthew Development, follows a 2014 land sale approval and a lengthy eight year effort to relieve overflow onto nearby streets.

Pueblo development officer sentenced for embezzlement

Bruce Sanchez former executive of the Indian Pueblos Federal Development Corp was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for embezzling more than 3.5 million dollars from the Pueblo corporation he led from 2003 to 2010 The judge rejected enhancements claiming 250 plus victims and noted the case harmed many pueblos and their members.

Silva-Bafiuelos named Valles Caldera superintendent

Jorge Silva-Bafiuelos, a 10 year federal employee and former executive director of the Valles Caldera Trust, is named superintendent of Valles Caldera National Preserve by NPS Intermountain Region Director Sue Masica. He previously advised DOI and served on the Senate committee staff.
