A ribbon cutting Saturday marks the Rainbow Park Observatory addition at 301 Southern Blvd. from 4 to 5 p.m. Coordinated by RRAS and the Rio Rancho Parks Department, the project was funded by $23,507 from park fees, city discretionary funds, and Sandoval County grants, with Harris Jewelers donating sundial stones. Boy faces charge in middle school poisoning incident
A 14-year-old boy at Eagle Ridge Middle School is accused of tricking two classmates into drinking a poisonous chemical, an alleged misdemeanor aggravated battery. A girl and a second boy survived after drinking blue liquid from a Gatorade bottle. police say the substance was copper sulfate found in the chemistry lab. The accused received school consequences and a report was sent to the 13th precinct.
