Birthday Watermelon Feed Honors Irvin Fossberg

Weeree med and friends plan a watermelon feed for Irvin Fossberg's birthday anniversary. Mr and Mrs E C Janssen visited Giltner last Thursday with Mrs George Hottendorff of Denver. Ernest Kerker returned from Denver. Mrs Franis Fossberg hosted the Swedish S Baptist Mission circle with Polk ladies attending. T S Braithwait and son were Hastings visitors. Fred Cummings visited his brother Bert and family from Lincoln. Misses Mildred Cole Hazel Larson and Ralph Gladisar were Lincoln visitors at the fair. Miss Edith Anderson departed.

Local visits and events around Goering, Gresham and Hastings

Local residents visited relatives and friends over the weekend in Goering, Gresham, and Stromsburg. J S Gustafson traveled from York on business. The WCTU Convention met at Shelby with Polk County delegates. Several Hastings and Battle Creek visitors joined family gatherings. American Legion Ladies Auxiliary hosted a picnic at the Mission Camp Grounds. Oscar Sundberg and Henry Johnson were in Lincoln on business.

Pastor Paul E. Carlson invites members to Friday evening quarterly business meeting. Attendance is emphasized as vital to church work. The First Baptist Church lists Rally Day and Promotional Exercises for Sunday after the regular lesson period with no preaching. Evening service dismissed due to Hordville events. Nebr. Baptist Young People's Evangelistic League rally in Oakland Saturday and Sunday draws many youth. A Forward Forum for Stromsburg Hordville and Polk churches is set for Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Edw. Carlos and Rev. Waltz leading. A sacred violin concert by Rev. Wm Wesenauer is scheduled Wednesday at 8:00 with offerings accepted.

Revival Begins Next Monday At Free Methodist Church

The Free Methodist Church invites all to attend a revival meeting starting Monday at 8 PM led by Rev. C B Archer of Wichita Kansas. Weekday services include Sunday School at 10 AM and morning worship at 11 AM with Y P S at 7 15 PM and Evangelistic Service at 8 PM. Thursday prayer meeting at 8 PM. Salvation of Souls is the motto and all are welcome.
