Kiop Farm Tour signals Polk County Saturday event

The third annual Kiop farm tour in Polk County will be held next Saturday starting at 2 p m. The event features corn variety tests mulch paper and seed treatments in cooperation with County Extension Agent F B Kelly. Funeral services for John F Glas ser near Brad shaw

Funeral services for John F Glas ser, pioneer near Bradshaw, were held at Harmony United Brethren Church Sunday at 2 pm. Rev J V Mann and daughter Rev Maud Mann conducted the service. Interment was in Lincoln Creek cemetery. He was 71 years 9 months 27 days old and a brother of Ar Robert Glasser.

Stewart Farms Sold at Public Auction in Platte

Stewart two quarters in Platte precinct sold at public auction Tuesday. Will Heigman bought the south quarter for 127 dollars per acre, Oscar Fredrickson took the north quarter at 126 dollars per acre. Both quarters described as extra good farms. A Faithful Workers Club meeting with Mrs F D Williams on Oct 9 planned door stops and quilt blocks for Mrs Cramer's quilt with member names embroidered. Light refreshments were served.

School Notes and Activities Highlight Local Students

Polk and Ulysses played to a 0 0 tie last Friday October 18 with both teams showing strong effort. The Dramatic Club plans a four act play The Ghost Bird and will announce dates soon. Phyllis Green leaves first grade for Columbia. Third grade completes Indian project linking spelling language reading geography and art. Pauline Green leaves fifth grade for Columbus. Several plants donated for winter enjoyment. Absences are near zero across six weeks. Christmas card catalog soon available at the office.
