Jim Adams Earns Eagle Scout Award at First Baptist Church
Jim Adams received the God and Country award as an Eagle Scout from Troop 192. Presentations occurred at Sunday service at First Baptist Church in Hastings by Rev. Harry Cowes. Only two prior recipients have earned this honor at the church. Adams completed demanding requirements including 150 hours of church work. His mother is the former Goldie Fossberg of Polk.

The L. C. W. of Trinity Lutheran met in the church basement on Wednesday October 1. Della Hoffman presided and the officers were re elected for next year. Helen Bayers led the program reviewing Micah. A lunch for 11 was served by Myrtle Werner and Mildred Norquest.

Polk Group to Attend Easter Seal Meeting in Lincoln
Mr and Mrs Dwight Burney Mr and Mrs Rolland Stromberg and Jo Ella Stromberg Easter Seal Child will represent Polk County at the Nebraska Easter Seal Society annual state meeting in Lincoln October 17 18. More than one hundred volunteers attend business meetings and workshops focusing on service for the physically handicapped and the Easter Seal summer camping program. The event features an awards banquet with guest speaker Sidney C Rowe of Somerset New Jersey board member of the National Easter Seal Society.
