Delegates at the Polk County ASC Convention elected Paul N. Walgren to a three year term on the Polk County ASC Committee replacing Leo Cockson. Walgren joins Richard C. Sealey and Ernest Lees as committee members with Sealey named Chairman and Lees as Vice Chairman. Alternates were F. A. Donelson and Leo Cockson. The county committee oversees farm programs including ACP Cropland adjustment Feed grain and wheat Wool and storage facility loans.
In the first weeks of school a class of twenty one reviews sight words beginning and ending sounds. Led by Mrs Saylor the group learns health spelling and writing while discussing safety at home and school.
Mrs. Robert Baack hosted 20 guests for her son Ronalds eighth birthday with classmates and relatives from Lincoln. Mrs. Martin Baack and grandchildren Ronald Dennis and Jonita Baack were guests at dinner. Others visited from Stromsburg Litchfield Fort Collins and Grand Island. The Polk Baptist Church held its annual rally day basket dinner followed by a fellowship service. Tammy Wood and grandfather T J Wood celebrated fourth and sixth birthdays with cake and lunch.
The Sept 28 1969 collection from Dayton Ohio features readers sending Polk Nebraska slogans and pleading for continued subscriptions. Names include R Max Peterson Jim Anderson and Mrs Earl Fuehrer with addresses and pleas to update mailing details and keep the Polk Progress coming.
