First Aid for the Ailing Birchwood Trim
Roger C. Whitman advises on restoring satin finish birchwood trim. Use commercial woodwork cleaners following directions, then apply a very thin coat of paste wax after drying. Rub with soft cloth, or clean with soap and water, rinse, dry, then wax to restore sheen.
