Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District Plan
The Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District aims to implement a complete soil and water conservation program on every farm in Polk County. It negotiates cooperative agreements with farmers, provides land maps from Soil Conservation Service technicians, and offers technical guidance for land use and treatment. The district, with federal and state partners, administers projects like Jones Creek Watershed to prevent floods and improve channels, guided by a locally elected board.
