Polk Commercial Club buys land for Memorial Athletic Park

The Polk Commercial Club purchased 18 acres at the south edge of Polk for an Athletic Park at $110 per acre and plans a new ground for the high school band. Timothy Ostberg will work as an engineer in Churchill Canada. Rev Bates and Rev Pearson attended a School of Evangelism in Aurora. Jimmy Sundberg and Donald Rasmussen attended the Iowa Nebraska game in Lincoln. Julius Peterson buys Polk Roller Mill from Theo DeGroot and takes possession next week. the sale prompts local civic activity.

Mrs Harless Leaves for Germany to Join Husband

Mrs. Joan Harless departed Friday for Germany to join her husband Gary who is stationed there. A coffee honoring Mrs Harless was held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Joe Hahn with guests including Mrs. Jim Dittmer and girls of Clarks Mrs. Robert Ostrander and Robie Mrs. Gaylord Dose and Greg Mrs. Leon Meerkatz and children and Mrs. Dennis Van Housen.
