Halloween Party at Methodist Church Sees 50 Attend

A Halloween party was held at the Methodist Church last Saturday afternoon with over fifty attendees. Teachers served lunch after games, including Mrs Irvin Anderson, Mrs Rolland Dahlin, Mr Everett Green, Mrs Paul Stand, and Dorothy Dahlin.

Local Families Attend Visits and Cattle Sale

Twenty five years ago Mr and Mrs C A Jack and daughter Ruth arrived from Tekamah to visit their son C G Jack and family. A baby girl was born to Mr and Mrs FE E Anderson. A group including W P Miller BR B Williams H A Cramer George Quick Dell Morris and Orlie Anderson attended a cattle sale in Grand Island. Mrs A D Dover came from Kearney after visiting her daughter. Dr C R Peterson and family visited his mother in Stromsburg. A E Swanson lost his kodak at the county fair and blamed a tribe of gypsies for the theft.

Lincoln Road Origins and Heard Island's Remote Location

The swamp trail that became Lincoln Road was formed in 1905 by mangrove bark gatherers in Miami Beach. Heard Island lies 2 450 miles southwest of Australia and 25 by 11 miles in size, charted in 1853 by Captain John Jay Heard.
