Polk County Socials Announce Weekend Visits

Mr and Mrs Clifford Branting visited Mervin and Mrs Branting at York Saturday afternoon then spent the evening with Mr and Mrs Vern Eklund and Vernalene at Bradshaw. Glen Brazda and girls stayed with her parents Jesse Caldwell at Swanton and joined Schwison family for supper. Dale Nyberg and boys of Central City visited Harold Carlson's family Sunday. Roland Bodine hosted dinner with Wilmer Rodine Clarence Rodine and Reuben Hanquist. Lee Harless and Pam visited Stanley Harless in Stromsburg Monday. Aunt Rowe of Barron Wis stayed with sister Emma Horstman Saturday night.

Polk County Republican Women to Meet November 15

Dr and Mrs L L Zierott of Long Beach California will speak at the Polk County Women’s luncheon at the Bit of Sweden in Stromsburg on Wednesday November 15 at 1 00 p m They are active in California Republican affairs and just returned from a European trip sponsored by the Voice of Americanism Mrs Zierott, born in Aurora, is sister of the late Mrs Arnold Isaacson of Polk. They will stay with the Glen Babcocks during their Polk County visit.

Polk County News Roundup of Local Social Visits

Mrs Susan Gertsch left Thursday to visit her daughter for a couple weeks at Arapaho. Hampton visitors helped celebrate Molly DeLand’s birthday in Osceola. Wayne Creech hosted a birthday event for Mrs Johnson with guests Ivan Johnson and others. Eastside Birthday Club meeting featured Mrs Ivan Johnson, Mrs M O Johnson, and Mrs Wayne Creech. Esther Peterson hosted Saturday coffee with Wilda Holmes Edith Benson and M O Johnson.

Mr and Mrs Joe Monson of Clarks were Saturday callers in the M O Johnson home. Leland Jones and family of Hampton dined with Mrs Hilmer Jones. Oscar Jones joined Calmar Jones in Lincoln for weekend visits. Grace Harless hosted Leona Schaepler, Delta, Larry Shay and baby from York Sunday. Grand Island visitors included Wm Wright, Martha Bush, Minnie Wright and Richard Johnson. Hoffman and Stindt hosted in Lincoln Friday and Saturday. Farmers Union banquet attended Seward Civic Center with Ed Christensen speaking.
