Savings Bond Sales Jump Across Nation in March

National sales rose sharply in March per N R Phillips state director. County totals reached 46944 in March and 139469 for the first quarter, equaling 35 2 percent of the 1966 county quota as reported by Warren E Johnson county chairman.

Polk County News Sailing Through A Week Of Local Tales

Last week residents welcomed visitors and shared family milestones. Mrs. Warnick celebrated marriage since 1945 while a Polk native resident. A baby girl arrived at Stromsburg hospital for Mr and Mrs Clarence Creech. Stuart Pengelly, home from Omaha, visited Sundbergs and works in insurance. The week included guests from Lincoln and North Platte and a Tarzan and the Amazons film at Polk Theatre.
