Mrs Pfeiffer Family Visits While Conference Takes Place

Mrs. Ted Pfeiffer and children from Lincoln stayed with Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Johnson from Sunday through Thursday as Mr. Pfeiffer attended a school conference in Tennessee. Gary Green hosted a birthday gathering for Amy with Bessie Green and Jay Dee Green in Central City on Sunday. Central City guests attended a luncheon at Clara and Emma Anderson's Stromsburg home honoring Joy and Jane Widen of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

Letter to Polk County Citizens Defends Treasurers Office

Carleton Anderson denies rumors of under the counter payments while on leave. He states no county funds were received beyond published proceedings showing a $54.37 payment for 24 hours of reconciling reports in early February 1966. He notes extra weekly work without pay to keep the office current.

Family Gathering Honoring Kisler and Barnes Members in Clarks

A Clarks gathering at the Robert Lindahl home celebrated Mr and Mrs Alvin Kisler and Mrs Shirley Barnes of Reno visiting relatives in Grand Island area. Many kin from Grand Island and nearby communities joined the Sunday supper and social visits. Beverly Willits underwent an appendectomy at Osceola hospital Sunday.

Burneys keep busy with Pakistan talks across region

The Dwight Burneys spent ten days delivering eight talks about their Pakistan trip. Mrs. Burney spoke at Stromsburg and Hartington Woman's Clubs, at the Cedar County Livestock Feeds banquet in Laurel, and at Swede Plain Family Night. They also gave slides at Polk School and joined a York gathering with friends from Lincoln, Clay Center, Hartington, Millard, Goehner, and Sioux City, Iowa.
