Readily Available Moisture in the top four feet of soil remains dangerously low across Nebraska. 1966 land use shows low RAM in row crops and fall-sown grains with pasture and rangeland affected. 50-75% RAM is normal for this season. adjustments to crops, populations, and fertilization are advised to improve water use efficiency and grain yields.

LWML Workshop Holds Utica Meeting
The LWML York Zone officers Institute and Christian Growth Workshop were held Monday at St. Pauls Lutheran church in Utica. Rev Walter Landgraf opened with devotions. Mrs. Hilmer Smith led the meeting as president and Mrs. Carl Franzen was named delegate to the International convention in Washington DC July 18 to 20, marking the LWMS Silver Anniversary. Reports were given by several members and workshop leaders included Mrs. Marvin Voltke and Mrs. Loren Wiemer with aide from Lavern Schulze of Immanuel Polk.
