Doc Williams moves into West Polk first grade and kindergarten present a musical. J B Williams and wife will move into the Nelson home on West Hill in Polk. Numerous community events include PTA musicals, a spring party by the American Legion Auxiliary, and a smorgasbord in York.

Home Society Welcomes New Member and Socializes

Home Society met with Mrs M O Johnson on Wednesday March 19 with thirteen members and three visitors present. Mrs Lyle Widga joined as a new member. After business, Kings Korners was played and Mrs Mary Monson won the hostess gift. A pot luck lunch followed. Mr and Mrs Ivan Johnson attended Warren Herron’s funeral at Aurora Saturday.

Farmers urged to unite for better prices in inflation era

In a letter from Polk County NF0 leader Bob Baker the author notes that farmers earned 3 percent on investment in 1967 while labor yielded nothing and parity fell from 74 percent in 1967 to 13 percent in 1968. He urges farmer organization for price gains. Dennis Sealey joins Kappa Delta Pi honors at Wayne State College.

Mrs Beulah Gustafson of Hastings was a Sunday overnight and Monday guest of Mrs Emma Johnson. Mr and Mrs Wayne Creech and family and Mr and Mrs Ivan Johnson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs M O Johnson. Mr and Mrs Ivan Johnson attended the funeral of Wayne's grandmother, Mrs Elzadie Hall at McCool on Wednesday.
