Local residents and visitors share weekend visits and travels across Benedict Hordville Chapman and nearby towns. Couples and individuals from Columbus York Nevada Missouri Topeka and California are noted visiting friends relatives and attending events including a Hugo Players show at Viking Hall and a rally at Weston.
Notice to all legal voters of Polk Nebraska and School District No 72 Polk County Nebraska that an election will be held at City Hall Vining Hall Polk on Tuesday April 5 1938. Three village trustees two year terms and one one year term plus two school board members three year term. Polls open 8 AM to 8 PM. R J Allison village clerk.
Mrs Gordon Eno and sons and Mrs Leo Wurtz were Lincoln visitors from Thursday until Sunday. Morace Smith, living with the W.A. Green family in Polk, moved to his son R L Smith's farm last week. Mrs Lena Higby of Pentland Oregon visits this week with cousin Mrs Walter Taylor. Mr and Mrs Oscar Stromberg Bulala Leonard and Lloyd dined with Mr and Mrs Emil S F Johnson at Stromburg Sunday. Mr and Mrs Amel Lind and Lloyd Lind and Miss Lillie Lind were Columbus visitors.

Notice of applications for beer retail licenses filed by R F Steenbock Hfag and W J Johnson for off and on sale at Polk Village addresses. Protests must be filed with the village clerk by March 29 1938 before the village board meets in special session to act on the applications.
