Village Board Proceedings Postponed March 3 1949

The Village Board met in a postponed session March 3 1949 with all members present. Minutes and reports were approved and beer licenses for W. J. Johnson and L. C. Orendorff were accepted for later approval. Bills against the village were approved for payment. The board adjourned to meet again March 29 1949. Twenty five years ago on March 6 1924 Oscar Anderson and bride arrived from Sweden and settled on the farm east of town. A son born to Mr and Mrs John Myers on the prior Sunday. Ruth Salchow married George Jackson and moved to Harvey Curren farm. Charlie Lindgren marked his 61st birthday with a party. A fire caused damage at R L Smith farm home from a gasoline iron.

Couple Wed at Lutheran Parsonage

Twenty years ago on March 7 1929 Stan ley J Harless married Miss Margaret Johnson at the Lutheran parsonage. Mrs E A Anderson marked her 60th birthday with a family party on February 27, gifts received. A Band Benefit banquet at the Hotel on March 4 impressed attendees as the Polk Womens Club provided service with professional polish.

Irene Hanson wed Lloyd Adelson at Swede Home Lutheran church on March 5. Dizzy Dozen Club met at Floyd Miller home for a St Patrick lunch. The Doreas met March 10 with Irene Forss and Alice Oberg hosting. Sheralee Hill and Walden McNaught hosted Senior Youth Fellowship at the church parlors.

Axel Andersort and sons visit Everett Anderson and Judy. Fredrickson visit on Sunday.
