Polk high school edged McCool 36 32 at home to close regular season action. Norval Nielsen led Polk with 12 points aided by Roger Long 13 and a late surge by Long and Nielsen. Polk Seconds won 26 11 while the varsity avoided a late upset in a 36 32 win.

George Scott Wins Polk High Ping Pong Championship

George Scott was declared the ping-pong champion of Polk High after a decisive 21-9 21-8 victory over Norval Nielsen in the finals. He defeated Roger Long Dennis Light and Jack Lavelle en route to the title. Lavelle took third by defeating Doyle Hahn 21-15 21-15.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Glatter hosted Linda Kay Glatter's first birthday party in Stromsburg last Tuesday evening.
