Polk adopts Social Security Act amendments ordinance
The village of Polk Nebraska enacts a measure to accept and apply the Federal Old Age and Survivors Insurance System under Public Law 734 as amended, authorizing the mayor to enter contracts with the state administrator to extend coverage, establishing a Social Security Fund, and funding via a 5 mill levy. Exclusions apply to employees already covered by other retirement plans, with retroactive effect to January 1, 1951.
