Sundberg 25th Anniversary Honored at Open House

Mr and Mrs Lawrence Sundberg of Rockford Illinois celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house at the James Lindburg home on Sunday June 10. About 100 guests attended including out of town relatives from Illinois Nebraska and California. A program featured Rev Walker Joyce Stevens Calmer Jones Horace Stevens and James Lindburg. A Young Peoples Society group prepared a camping trip and other relatives joined in on the celebration.

The Polk Midgets secured a forfeit victory over Shelby 1 0 after Shelby failed to appear last Friday June Sth. They plan to travel to Stromsburg for a rematch this Friday following a 6 3 win over Burg in the earlier tilt.

Dedication Service at Baptist Church Honors Memorial Figures

A Friday dedication at the Baptist Church marked improvements to the building and a choir chair memorial for Florence Anderson and James Nelson. Memorial funds from Anderson and Nelson families funded the project, with scripture, music, speeches, and a fellowship hour. plus notes on regional job markets and local employment service efforts.

Knotholers and Commercial Club Win First Start

The Swede homers sponsored by Fredrickson Imp. Co. defeated the winless Cornhuskers 8 to 6 in an evenly played game. Both teams produced few hits and many errors while spectators enjoyed the contest with star batting from Junior Glasser and Swanson, each with two hits.

Auxiliary Ends Year Meeting At Legion Hall

The American Legion Auxiliary held its final 1950s meeting at the Legion Hall with President Mrs Frank Davis presiding. Reports show a treasury balance of 395 dollars and multiple charity efforts including gifts to veterans hospitals and local funds, with new officers Loretta Neuhaus and Jo Ostberg elected for 1951 52. A luncheon for 26 ladies followed a program of songs readings duets and a piano solo.
