Andrus on Interior Policy for Redwood Park Growth

In a reflective piece Andrus urges action to save redwoods near Redwood Creek by acquiring surrounding land to halt erosion and safeguard jobs. He notes 48 000 acres proposed to be added, mostly in the Redwood Creek drainage, with 10 000 acres containing harvestable old growth redwoods near critical areas. He warns remaining old growth could vanish in 10 to 15 years, risking timber towns and workers, and calls for immediate land purchase and rehabilitation while protecting livelihoods. Sunday guests at the Merin Nyberg home included Len Nyberg of Rockford Illinois Philip Nyberg of Osceola and Elvera Nyberg.
