Mrs. Richard Wood hosted relatives and neighbors for Cristy Wood’s first birthday. Guests enjoyed refreshments after a sociable gathering. Mrs. Vergil Bush hosted Home Society members on Wednesday with visiting and a carry in lunch.
The Polk churches list weekly times for worship, Sunday School and Bible study. Clergy named include Harry Ratzlaff Immanuel Lutheran W Long Polk Baptist Floyd Merchant Milton O Connor Clifford A Smith Bernt G Johnson with services from 8 to 11 am and midweek gatherings.
The W.C.T.U. met Tuesday afternoon July 14 with eighteen members and six visitors. Mrs A E Ekstrom and Mrs Chas Whittemore led the devotional period. Mrs Pearl Park spoke on Tomorrow's Trees, and Mrs Willard Adelson entertained with a vocal solo. Two readings were given by Mrs Glenn Jan. Refreshments were served.
Gaylen Holmes visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Holmes as the Holmes family joined a Sunday picnic in Arcadia. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson and Mrs. Ddith Carlson spent Thursday evening with Mrs. Arthur J. Gustafson.
Executors have filed a final account and petition for final settlement and discharge in the matter of the estate of William A. Stevens deceased. The hearing is set for July 31, 1953 at 10 A M before the Polk County Court. Interested parties may appear to contest the decree determining heirship and distribution.
