Wesley Reist Hired As Music Teacher
Wesley Reist of Lincoln has been contracted by Enlarged District 72 to teach music in Polk Public Schools for the 1953 54 year. He will graduate from the University of Nebraska this summer and is a Lincoln Central High School alum. Reist will direct vocal and instrumental music and was active in the Nebraska University band orchestra and madrigal group. He also served as counselor at All State last summer.

Mrs. Caroline Nordstrom Laid To Rest In Stromsburg
Mrs. Caroline Nordstrom, 84, died Sunday evening at Osceola Hospital after a several week illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 PM at Covenant Church in Stromsburg with burial in Stromsburg cemetery.

Legion Wins Oilers Into First Place
Legion takes a 7 to 5 win over the Butchers on five runs in the fifth and two in the sixth. Art Phillips and Lee Dittmer pitched well for the teams.
