Arthur Scholz and wife return from Laramie and plan to farm the John Adelson place next season. Clarence Rodine to attend an Undertaking School in Chicago leaving Wednesday. Mrs Rodine will visit relatives. Polk Cafe now run by John C. Mace. Oscar Strand back from business trip to North Platte and Big Springs. M F Smith and wife headed to Boulder Colorado for summer. J N Norton left for Custer County where he delivered a Fourth of July talk. A baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs Otto Wilshuen on July 4. Hilah Mae Plessinger married J Walter Johnson at the bride’s parents home. Anna V Sidwell and George R Wilkins wed June 27 by Judge Hopkins. Ed Nelson, aiding his brother, left for Lincoln for a new job. Josephine Lindahl returns from Denver after six weeks. Tressa Hill to work at Harry Shafer’s Jewelry. Shafer touring Colorado.
A parade of small town items lists remodeling at P J Garten's store by A E Swanson and Walter Green. Miss Nina returns from Lincoln with Miss Helen Lind, and Ruth Nelson suffers a facial wound from a firecracker. Several fishing trips and a future oil drilling project are noted along with births and visitors.
A master tailor works daily in our plant offering cleaning pressing and repairing of old suits. Polk residents have used our service in the past two months with great satisfaction. Try us this week for a neat new fit.
