Funeral rites for Louis Frawley held in Stromsburg

Funeral services for Louis Frawley age 52 were conducted Monday at the Edwin IL Anderson funeral home with W E Hedburg in charge. Frawley, former Polk County resident and grandson of Louis Headstrom founder of Stromsburg, died suddenly en route to Illinois after surgery in California. He leaves a son and several daughters, his mother Mrs J A Frawley of Shelbyville IL, two sisters in Illinois, and is buried in Stromsburg cemetery.

Property Sold at Phelps Tax Sale in Holdrege

Fifteen parcels of real estate were sold at public auction by Sheriff G. Royal Hanson in Holdrege as the first installment of Phelps county tax foreclosures. The county and city bought the land, with delinquencies spanning up to ten years. Fifty-one more parcels will be offered for sale next Monday. Mr and Mrs Ralph Farley of Norfolk and B A McDaniel of Grand Island were Sunday dinner guests at the Nels Wilson home.

Fishing party reports good catch at Lake Er ics

Raymond Peterson, Ed Johnson and Manuel Lindgren of Hordville went on a fishing trip to Lake Er ics on Thursday. They report a good catch. Jimmie Mills was kicked by a cow recently, breaking several ribs. Mr and Mrs D N Mills were dinner guests at the Fred Shockey home near Arborville on Sunday. Hilding Strand left Friday for Clay Center for temporary work. Glen Hill Smith Crow and Johnnie Strand, spending the week here, returned to Seward Monday to haul gravel.
