Carlson Couple In Polk County Fatal Crash
Twenty five years ago on February 14, 1924 Gust Carlson a Polk County farmer and his wife were riding to Aurora when an eastbound car struck their vehicle from the rear causing a rollover. Carlson died at once and his wife was seriously injured. Emil Meerkatz has just returned from York hospital.

Reports note E W Hahn shipped cows from Hardville and P T Wurtz moved steers from Polk on the same day. Raymond Myers, 16, sick with smallpox, quarantined at home. Dr. Arthur Wurtz and Miss Hazel Adelson involved in a highway auto accident near David City Seward. Adelson injured, Wurtz and Smith bruised.
