February 17 1923 Mrs Lillian Brown traveled to Columbus to visit her sister Miss Florence Anderson. Misses Myrtle Beckman and Marjorie Hedbloom of Stromsburg visited the R J Allison home. Mrs Spires arrived from Keeney to visit the Elmer Hanquist home. Dr C R Peterson rode to Norfolk for medical treatment. Alice Myers hosted thirteen friends for her thirteenth birthday with a fishpond valentines theme and refreshments. A carload of 36 horses was shipped to S J Piper. The Woman's Club met at Mrs S D Clifford's home with magazine and book reviews. Mrs Mae Sundberg discussed the magazine. Mrs Alfred led the book review. Mrs Cox reported on Osceola woman voters meeting. Fred Johnson returned from California. Farm Bureau clubs recognized forty eight members including Ralph Peterson and Martha Jones. J E McDaniel and Earl Payne watched the state checker tournament at Central City. Dr Slusser visited the office. Mrs Charles Hill, aged pioneer, died at York last Wednesday and was buried Friday. Fern Myers and Edna Tenney visited from Chapman. Pleasant Home precinct Red Cross funded Near East Relief with $226 after apportionment of $700.
