The small son of Elmer Cash suffered a severe cut above the eye while playing. Miss Mary Niermann left for David City and plans to buy spring millinery stock in Omaha and St. Joseph for the French Hat Shop. Mervin Dahlgren remains at home with chicken pox. George Wright and family moved to Clarks for the upcoming farming year. Mrs. A W Shafer departed for unspecified destinations.

Ten years ago on February 10 1927 the Home Imperial Orchestra met for rehearsal in the Baptist Church parlors with lunch served by Mesdames O F Alfred A W and Harry after the session in the church hall.

Sundberg relatives visit Nebraska and local land sale near Polk

Shafer and Oscar Sundberg attended a hardware dealers convention in Lincoln last week and visited Sundberg kin in Adams Nebraska. Mr and Mrs August Nelson bought about 57 acres of Henry Sundberg estate north of the track east of Polk to build a home. Mrs Henry Sandell pricked her palm with a needle. Dr Westfall removed it. Alfred Shockey will take possession of Arborville Store about February 20. Lillian Brown visited Rising City and Edith Anderson teaches there. Dr Westfall Charles Crew Dennis Mills and Arnold Crow attended a fish fry by the Issac Walton League at Stromsburg.

Local Free club hosts social gathering and birthdays

The Free club met Tuesday at Mrs. Herb Olson's home with dainty refreshments to close the enjoyable evening. Several families gathered for birthdays and socializing, including the Andersons Widgas and Mrs. Herbert Anderson. Guests included Rodney Anderson and daughter of Rockford, the Seymours, Green families, Helsing and Christensen with Hazel Nelson, and visitors from Grand Island and York.

Ralph Shafer of Polk becomes manager of Holland Furnace Company in Grand Island.
