Funeral services for Mrs Chas F Jonnson aged 53 were held Sunday afternoon from the Swedish Lutheran Church. Frances E Hansen daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew F Hansen of Stromsburg and Lyle F Holm son of Mr and Mrs Nels Holm of Swede Home were married at Stromsburg on Friday February 12. Arnold Isaacson was taken to an Omaha hospital Saturday night with flu and other ailments. The marriage of Miss Beulah Gestrine of near Stromsburg to Harold Johnson took place Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran Church at Stromsburg. A grocery salesman from a large mid-size firm was heard talking to locals.

Polk area grocery firm leads in per capita sales
Last week a Polk town report noted that Polk grocery stores annually buy and sell more groceries than any town of similar size in the state. Dr C R Peterson known as painless Pete wrecked his car after striking a horse on a Chapman highway. the horse died from injuries. Mrs John L Meerkatz of south of town broke both arms slipping on ice at York and was treated at the hospital. Several locals purchased new tractors from P T Wurtz & Son.
