Cubs Sweep Two to Extent Undefeated Streak to Four

The Polk Cubs improved to 4-0 with a 50 54 win over Genoa and then beat St Ed Beavers to stretch their sweep to four straight victories. Carlstrom led Polk with 29 rebounds and 27 points while Lindgren added 12 points and 17 rebounds as Neuhaus also contributed. The Cubs head to a holiday tournament at Shelby December 27 28 facing Rising City and Gresham with games set for December 27 at 7:00 PM.

Christmas Dinner With Whitacre Family Hosts Gifts

An all-host Christmas dinner and gift exchange took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Wilbur Whitacre Saturday at 6 30 PM. Attending were Mr and Mrs Galyn Lind of Axtell Mr and Mrs LaMar Lind and Michael of Arnold Mr and Mrs Lloyd Lind and Arlyce and Miss Lillie Lind. Mrs Emma Anderson was absent due to illness.

Home Society Met In Stromsburg December 18

The Home Society met at Mrs Grant Johnson's home in Stromsburg on Wednesday December 18 with eleven members and one visitor present. President Myrtle Johnson led the business session. a $5 donation from Mr and Mrs M W Bragg was sent to the Nebraska Children's Home in Omaha, with the group voting to send $15 more. A Christmas gift exchange and all-hostess lunch followed.

Polk County Households Share Holiday Visits

Polk residents hosted and visited over the weekend Mrs Orlie Miller and Mary Lou Kealiher with the Fossbergs at Pastor Wood’s home for ice cream. Grandsand and Burneys toured Minden to view Christmas lights and Pioneer Village. Fredricksons attended a hospital staff dinner at the Polk County Recreation Association on December 10. Jane Fredrickson arrived from Fremont to spend the holidays with her parents.
