Polk Community Club prepares pot luck and officer elections

The January 16 1969 Polk Community Club meeting will feature a pot luck supper and officer elections. Food arrangements are led by Mrs Shirley Gustafson Mrs Bob Clymer Mrs NE McNaught Mrs Ralph Kahler Mrs Myron Norquest and Mrs M F Stewart. Entertainment planning is by Mrs Leslie Adelson Mrs Glenn Hill and Mrs Marvin Fredrickson. Members should bring their own silverware and dishes.

Cubs Take Second In Holiday Tournament

Polk Cubs withstand Rising City 56 54 in overtime to clinch runners up in the Rising City Holiday Tournament and earn a shot at Gresham in the final. Steve Carlstrom led with 21 points followed by Mike Lindburg's 14 as the Cubs shot 63 percent from the line and 18 of 50 from the floor.
