Delegates Return From NFO Convention
Polk County delegates Mr and Mrs Vern Berck Bill Beebe and Richard Teegerstrom returned home December 6 after what they called the most successful convention in their history. The 10 000 delegate gathering named Oren Lee Staley president and Erhard Pfingsten vice president as the National Farmers Organization expands. Officials said reports show the NFO is now effective enough in bargaining to raise price levels by moving production and contracting with processors, backed by a possible holding action.
