Visitors at the Gilbert Gertsch home included B. W. Gertsch Dorothy and Don Scheapler with Milton Gertsch and his Costa Rica trip photos. Other guests were Art Ekstrom Will Hulsebus and Rev. Paul Lemke. The Widgas plan to move to Alliance Nebraska, Milton E Gertsch heads to Baton Rouge. Monte’s birthday is celebrated. weddings and travels are noted among local families.
The Evangelical Free Churches of Nebraska wrapped up their 25th annual young people conference at Polk Buble Camp near Polk Nebraska. Rev Melvin C. Stone was chosen chairman for next year and plans for conference and camp improvements were outlined. The event drew participants from multiple churches and included the Junior Bible Camp led by Rev Ray Nelson and a regular conference with Evangelist Albert Peterson.
The Pleasant Homemakers 4-H Club met at Marlene Andersons home to discuss health charts safety at home and on the farm and to prepare for the fair booth. Officers were elected with Sondra Hull as president Shirley Hahn as vice president Marlene Anderson as secretary treasurer Sheralee Hull as health officer and social leaders Shirley Stevens and Marilyn Hahn.
Mr and Mrs Ray Morgan of Fairfield and Mr and Mrs David Sundberg were Sunday callers in the Glen Hill home. Roger Gustafson and family visited the C R Peterson home in Osceola Sunday. Linda returned home after spending a week there. Glen Hill Sheral ee and Sondra and Mrs Irvin Anderson and Marilyn Hahn returned last Tuesday from a trip to the Black Hills and saw the Passion Play at Spearfish South Dakota. Hoffman Jr Connie and Stanley Peterson and family visited in Everett Cramer home Friday evening. Seth Piper and family were Saturday afternoon callers in York and supper guests of Lee Rhodes.
Mr and Mrs Oscar Sundberg and family returned from a Jackson Hole Yellowstone trip. Several groups met at Grand Island and Broken Bow for reunions and picnics. Lee Anderson and others toured Yellowstone. Lindburg and Aker travel through the Black Hills. Thelen Armagast wedding dance set for Sept 1 in Shelby with Don Loflan Orchestra. Eloise Schott and Bill Nelson wed in Osceola. Lawn party hosts included Mrs Tommy Thompson and others with a card lunch. The Bateses attended Vesper Service at the Methodist Church and planned a vacation. Kroger and Benson traveled to Omaha. Samuels family visited Alliance. Carlsons spent time with Kucks in St Libory.
