OSCEOLA CLUB GALA AND LOCAL GATHERINGS REPORTED

Social events at the Osceola Country Club and nearby homes fill the week with feasting, contests, and prize winnings. Notables include the Johnsons, Schumans, Cravens, and Mills hosting at the Club House. Millis winning high scores. Collins taking the traveling prize. and families visiting from Stromsburg Kearney Hartford Lincoln Chicago Omaha and more. A Johnson family reunion drew seventy three attendees at the city park with guests from Chicago Loup City North Platte York and Omaha.

The Polk County Fair runs August 25 to 28 with beauty pageants, ball games, parades, races, and eight free acts nightly. Osceola and Shelby bands provide music as Stromsburg and local churches host shows. Carnival midway features McMahon’s rides, with 25 cent admission and 75 cent season tickets benefiting county public schools.
