Family Picnic Honors Widga and Friends at Buckley Park

A Sunday afternoon picnic at Buckley Park honored families from Ojai Santa Susana Minneapolis Lincoln and Clarks Polk and surrounding areas. Attendees included Jack France Jim Schneider Leland Widga Magnhild Widga Genevieve Turner Lisa Alley John Copenhaver Lawrence James Jim James Herb Tracy Bert Reed Bill Douglas Gary Morris and others.

Letter to the Progress Reader Notes Move and Home Ties

A July 30 1967 note from Dean Norris informs of a new address to continue receiving the Progress every Saturday. He expresses how the paper keeps him tied to Nebraska and home. Mr and Mrs Ted Dittmer visit relatives near Hordville. Wilmer Johnson and Steve visit Lincoln guests. Hyde Stohl wedding attended.

Community social life in pork district reflected in weekend visits

Mr and Mrs Arthur Samuelson hosted coffee after church with Willard Adelson. Mrs Cora Lindburg and Mrs M G Lindburg visited Mrs Mabel Stevens. A No Name Birthday Club gathering at Myrtle Bush's home included 8 members and 1 guest with bridge and lunch. Numerous hospitality events across Lincoln and nearby towns featured bridal parties, weddings, dinners, and family get togethers, highlighting connections in the pork community.

WCTU Meeting Held at Mrs Swanson Home

The July WCTU meeting met at Mrs A E Swanson's home with Mrs P W Aker presiding and Mrs Wilbur Whitacre leading devotions. Six members and three visitors attended, an all hostess program entertained, and Mrs Swan son served a lovely lunch.

Local social visits and a Nebraska Wesleyan University event

Mon and Mrs Mervin Shenk visited Mr and Mrs Ollie Johnson on Saturday evening. Miss Jane Fredrickson spent the weekend with Miss Cheryl Stohl at Lincoln and attended the Hyde Stohl wedding Saturday. She also attended Miss Jean Johnson's graduation at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Jean Johnson is a Bryan Memorial School of Nursing member.
