Polk Commercial Club lays out Polk Bean Days on September 8 and 9 with football opener against Stromsburg, teen dance, and a daytime parade. Seven kettles of beans and 650 pounds of barbecued beef planned, served as individual portions only. Activities include tractor pulling at 1 30, water fight at 3 30, car rodeo at 4, York Drum and Bugle Corps at 7, and Women’s Style Show at 7 30 with raffle and bicycle prize. Four Aces will provide music for events.
