Weekend Visits Across Several Nebraska Towns

Mr and Mrs Rodney Whitte and family of Elmwood visited over the weekend with his Syurents Mr and Mrs Charles Whittemore. Mrs Lloyd Stromberg entertained a group of ladies Thursday afternoon. Gary and Arlan Stromberg were weekend visitors of their grandparents in Aurora. Mr and Mrs Fred Rhode and girls visited in Columbus. Mrs Frank Larson visited in Ewing at Wayne Stevens home. Kenneth Gibb of Chicago was an overnight guest in the Everett Cramer home.

Cyanamid Gives Potatoes Higher Yields and Weed Control

Tests at Pennsylvania State University show cyanamid as a preemergence weed control for potatoes also adds nitrogen later in the season. Professor J Stanley Cobb notes granular cyanamid used in a foot wide row band at 400 pounds per acre boosts yield by about 100 bushels per acre and controls grasses and broadleaf weeds.

A new process preprints wood tones and designs on large metal sheets before fabrication of instrument boards and interior trim. The steps include applying primer and grounds, printing the wood grain, and finishing with a glaze lacquer. This reduces handwork, saves time, and simplifies production for auto makers.
